The handsome cuff features the famous Pine Needle pattern by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933), from a metal and Favrile glass frame in The Met collection. The original frame was produced about 1905–20.

This frame, which was sold with an inkwell and other matching desk items, is an example of the fancy goods" that were among Louis C. Tiffany's more affordable merchandise. The "Etched Metal and Glass" desk set in the Pine Needle pattern created an effect similar to that of stained-glass windows.
