Cozy cabins and snow-covered cottages, a tiny house at the water’s edge and a stately home nestled in a wintry woodland. CJ Hurley’s paintings spin tales of lives interwoven with natural and built environments, evoking places of peace and abundance. One imagines folks gathered ’round a crackling bonfire to toast the season or perhaps snuggled under quilts by a woodstove to read in companionable comfort. Here we experience the quietude of winter brushed by the warmth and beauty of home. Hurley believes that both art and nature transform who we are as humans.
